My year was productive. I wrote 5 books and published 4 in 2021. Totally awesome! First, there was Fairytale's Truth. My personal favorite. The MC was inspired by my first grandchild. Everything about her is all from my granddaughter. I only changed her age although my granddaughter turned 5 in October. She was excited being added to my story and she doesn't even understand what that means lol. She has this magic about her that had to be replicated through a story. The use of unicorns was inspired by my youngest daughter. She loves them. I wanted to write a story about them but couldn't come up with a story until I began thinking of my granddaughter and everything just poured out. This has made writing the story so much more fun than the other books because I get to relive my memories with her. I'll write other stories for my other grandchildren too, but not sure when yet.   You have written a book called SuperHero Joey. What is the book about?  The book is about a boy who discovers he has superpowers & helps others discover they have Epilepsy. You have a co-author. What did he contribute to the story? What is his story?   Joey, my son, helped write his story in a fun book as a Superhero. When he was 4 (a couple of months before he turned 5) he had his first seizure in preschool. A few weeks later, he had an official diagnosis of Epilepsy. Our world was turned upside down and we had no idea about Epilepsy or seizures. After doing a search for books, I decided to write my own. What made you want to write this book?  I wrote this book to help others learn about their new diagnosis at a level children can understand. As a writer, we hear the phrase "Show, don't tell," a lot. Using passive verbs will not get you there, although sometimes it can't be helped. A passive verb is when the subject is receiving the action of the verb. That's telling. How do you show vs tell? By rewording the sentence so it's not passive. News reports are written by reporters or Reporters write news reports But that's not the only way to show. Using the 5 senses will also help show the story. How does the character feel? What's going on around them? Using the setting around the character can help too. Show the character working against the setting. It's raining so having your character wipe the rain off of their face several times put them into the scene and shows the reader that it's raining. Other senses: smell, hearing, etc. Using them puts the character in the story and will help the reader put themself in the story as well. It's not enough to find all the right words, putti...

  This candle is in respect of all of the firefighters who risk their lives to put out the fires. So, I thank all of those who do what they must to take down those flames. My hand's up to you, my friends. Thank you. This time of year is the busiest for firefighters. One candle left unattended can cost someone their home. I pray that you aren't one of them. Please keep an eye on your candles and other fire-starting items in your home. Heaters is another one. Yes, the new ones are set to shut off when tipped over but don't depend on that to work. If you're leaving, shut them off. If you're going to bed, shut them off. Blow out the candles. Show your thanks and gratitude toward firefighters in your area. Tell them you appreciate them. Say thank you, at least. Let them know you care. You can also show them by using social media. Use the hashtag bluechristmas in your posts. I'm doing it here. #bluechristmas as well. My dream personal library would also be my "office" space where I would write my stories. I would have a large room because I love big spaces lol. There would be a lot of windows that would be open so I could see outside. The shelves would be built-in from floor to ceiling and would be filled with a combination of books.  Some of the books would be old and weathered. These books would only be meant for decoration but they would also be read. I would have research books, books on writing, books on marketing, books on editing, etc. Then I would have books I've written and books written by many different Indie authors that I would also read.  The desk would be large and solid. It would be made of wood because I love wood. It would have a shine to it and have carvings, like the one pictured here. I would have a couple different areas to relax and read. I love window seats and window tables so those would be incorporated. The furniture would be brown leather with a few pillows...

What drove you to write it? A newly published author in 2008, I prioritized increasing my visibility while adding to my credibility by binge-writing my way out of obscurity. Having grown up during the Sixties, I drew upon those experiences to write my first memoir, “A Mini Tribute to Twiggy,” and submitted it for publication at The Sixties Official Site .   I like this picture because it does show everything in one picture. The tools I use, laptop, tablet, and my phone. I don't know what I'd do without them lol. Inspiration comes in many forms. People, places, things, actions, a memory......And they all inspire me to write stories. I've always been able to see things within objects. For instance, when you look at a floor made with dots and blobs. If you stare at them long enough, you begin to see things forming. I see faces a lot of the times lol. Once I saw a frog lol. It was funny because the person who painted the wall wasn't trying to make one. He had just thrown paint on the wall and used a sponge to create patterns. One pattern looked like a frog to me. Once I pointed it out, after laughing, everyone else saw it. Now it's the frog room lol. I haven't been back to that place in years but I can imagine people are still talking about it lol.
