Stop Rebooting our Shows. Make Something New

Image
Two new shows getting rebooted from the original. Highway to Heaven and Doogie Howser, to add to already rebooted TV shows like Charmed (they made their reboot really quick), Magnum PI, Macgyver, etc. These shows were shows I grew up with and I'm sure you did you. So why are they repeating these old shows instead of making new original shows? When someone is great, you should leave it alone, in my opinion. There's a channel already made to air these old shows for people who want to watch them again. It's called TV Land. It's not like they can't change the line-up after so many weeks, giving the other shows a chance to air again. People are still watching shows like Gunsmoke these days because the shows were good. They should be left alone. It's the same way with movies. If the movie was done right the first time, leave it alone. Do something original instead of remaking it. Yes, Ghostbusters was good, but the original was good too. It could have been added to th

Writing+ apps to make your writing life easier

Image
We are living in a time where everything can be added to our cell phones and tablets. More and more authors are using these electronics to write their stories, edit them, and even market them. Knowing the right apps to use and where to find them can make it easier and quicker to get everything started in our new careers as authors. When I first began writing, I didn't have these things available to me because they weren't invented/created yet. When cell phones were first made available to people, they didn't have these things available to them. Now, apps are on every single phone there is. Most likely, you already had a few apps installed on your phone before the first time you even used it. I like the Google apps because they are so much easier but only Android phones have Google. Iphones and the others use their own like Siri, etc. But you can always download Google to your phone. But I'm not talking about Google today. Instead, I'm going to share other apps tha

Tips, Tricks, and Tools to keep your life organized....

I have a really bad memory so having a planner with the months and days in a small tablet helps keeping my schedule figured out. In the picture above, you can see the tablet "You got this" planner. It's one of those planners where you fill in the days and months so if you have to, you can start in the middle of the year. Mine has 18 months I believe so I started it last month and it will go through the whole year of 2022, so I'm covered. I use it to keep track of the posts I plan ahead plus my daily activities. And I kept last year's planner so I can compare how I did today last year with today. It's cool when you're keeping track of sales. Everything is in one place. The other tablet in the picture is a plain tablet filled with empty lines for note-taking. I use that particular one just for Peterson Estate series. It has all of the books in the series. I filled it with characters, setting information, and a little information about each of the books. That

Writer's Fashion

Image
They say dress for the job as if you already got it. The fashion for writers probably isn't so different. It should represent you and your books. Nice pants, nice blouse, etc. For women, that is lol. But everyone is different.  Personally, I'm not into fashion. I could care less what's in style because I'm going to wear what I like and what I feel comfortable in, and that is what's important. You should care how you look but more importantly, how you feel in it. There's always going to be at least one person who doesn't like the choice of garments you choose to wear, and that's okay. If you are happy with what you're in, other people will see it because you will show it. Your attitude will show it. So here's my opinion on fashion.... 1. Wear what you can afford. 2. Wear what you feel good in. 3. Wear something that conveys the message you're reaching for.  So, if you write horror novels, a normal t-shirt and jeans are fine. Red and black are
