Author Interview with C. Phillip

Image
Hello, everyone. I have a treat for you today. I interviewed an awesome author. Her name is C. Phillip. I've had her and her books in my newsletters so I had to come up with some new questions to ask her lol. So here they are. I hope you enjoy her answers and give her books a try! They are awesome! Please tell me about your books. I noticed you have 2 more on your website. Please tell us what they are all about. The Last Nautch Girl is my self-published debut novel. It's Book 1 in my historical fiction and murder mystery series, set in different cities of colonial India, featuring Indian classical dancers, British investigators, vigilante justice, serial killers, diabolic villains & much more. It follows the story of Mrinalini, a native ex-dancer in Kolkatta, who is secretly providing shelter in her home to five young men accused of the murder of Major Harold Armitage. Fiercely patriotic and hot-blooded, the men regard Mrinalini as “Didi” and trust in her completely while

If I won the lottery!

If I ever won the lottery, I'd be flipping out with joy like any other person in the world would. After the reality of winning sets and I've collected the winnings, this is what I would do with it.... First, I'd open an account and have most of it put into savings, and then I would have 2 cards set up for the checking side only for me and my husband. That way, I'm not spending it all at once lol. Believe me, I'd be so happy to have that much money that I would just spend it without thinking. Got to be safe lol. Now that the money is secure, I would... 1. Buy a house. This would be a large house, big enough to house all 3 of my kids plus their kids just in case they are all spending the night at the same time. But they would not be permitted to live with us. The house would be on farmland or on the edge of the city. I haven't decided which, yet. I would also get everything for the house (furniture, etc) 2. I would pay off my debt and renew my driver's license

New Changes, Updated Website

Image
Link to Website I have many new changes to report. I have fully updated my website. The link is above. This is a screenshot of the top of the homepage. The top section will be changed when I am closer to releasing each new book when I have pre-orders available. So that's pretty cool. I have added a few new things to the site. I decided to check out other authors' pages and was inspired by one of my favorite authors, Stephen King. Of course, I don't have nearly as many books as he does so my pages are different but the ideas for design and some of the information were inspired by what was on his site. For instance, I now have FAQ information on my site. I will be adding to it as time permits. It can be found on the "about" page. His page was separate and the cool feature that he had on his page (dropdown) answers to the questions couldn't be repeated on my page. Still trying to figure that part out lol. I liked the area where he had a mini-menu for some of th

Editing and Preparing Fairytale's Christmas

The designer responsible for this new cover is Jenni Ward. She's not finished with the design yet so I can't share the final piece. It will be revealed on November 2 through Instagram and Facebook Page so keep your eyes out for that. Follow me on those sites if you want to see it. Or sign up for my mailing list up top. I've been editing the story. So far I have 8 chapters finished and still going. I've been able to add several pages to the book. So now I have 171 pages. I'm hoping it will be 200 when I'm finished. The size of the book will be 8x5, the same size as the first book. I'm also going to add a special touch to the story. But I can't say what that is just yet. When it's closer to release day, I'll be sharing facts about the story and I'll be making the announcement at that time. This is going to be so much fun! Anyway, this is all I needed to share today. You have a great and awesome day!

Happy Labor Day! I hope today is good to you! So I have one question. Why aren't we supposed to wear white after today? I grew up with a sister who was all about looking good. I remember growing up, waiting to use the bathroom because she was putting on her make-up and fixing her hair. And some of those days, she wasn't going anywhere lol. She'd lock herself up in her bedroom and listen to music all day. And she had to dress up for that. Those days, I couldn't understand why she was like that. I was just a kid at the time. But that was where I learned you're not supposed to wear white after Labor Day. She was a cheerleader and was very popular. Yep, she was in that crowd. Anyone who didn't look the part had no purpose in her clan, including me. It wasn't until I was older when she actually started being a sister and even then she didn't act like she liked me. Sibling rivalry at its best, I guess.  All these years, I always wondered about it. Sure I asked

Everything is Coming Along Great.......Updates

I am so grateful for those who ordered copies before the book was released. The release day came and went without having any issues. I was relieved about that. The paperback was approved and ready for purchase the day before release day so it had perfect timing. I always like to hit publish early enough to cover any fixes before the release day comes. Amazon took their time getting it approved but there weren't any issues so I was happy about it. That doesn't always happen. Updates: The cover for my next book, Fairytale's Christmas is being worked on now. It is coming along nicely. There were a few hiccups during this process but those problems are being ironed out. I will be sharing the cover reveal with my subscribers first, then will reveal the cover elsewhere. Here included. I am also in the editing process for the book, which is fun because this is the part where a good story becomes great. Sometimes, it takes a while which means I'm glad I was able to get started
