Counting down the days

Image
I am counting down the days for two reasons! The first one will be coming sooner than the second one. First, my third grandchild will be coming so I am super excited about that. My youngest baby is expecting her first baby. Jessica Unique will be here in less than 2 weeks! It could be sooner than 1 week. I'm not getting my hopes up lol. I'm just saying. Every time I see my daughter, I can't help myself, I gotta rub her belly and send Jessica kisses. Is that weird? If it's weird, I don't care lol. My first grandchild is super excited too. It's just so cute seeing her kiss her belly. This is her first cousin and she's calling her, her baby. It's just too adorable! Okay, so the second thing I'm counting down is the release for The Dead Life. I have updated the cover too. The spine was too small so I had to make adjustments and then I accidentally altered the color and I loved it! It's a little darker so the paperback will be slightly di

Calling All Published Authors..........

Image
During the month of February, I will be doing a series of fun events on my author page and I want to invite you to join me at that event! So I'm thinking of doing a few Author Takeovers here and there, plus a few other smaller events to get people excited about my next book, The Dead Life. Plus it will be fun meeting people on the page. So, here's where all of you come in........... On the first, I will be making the announcement on the page so everything will occur afterward lol. But if you would like to participate, please IM me on Facebook to work out the date and time. During that day, you will post your own posts a few times with your information, have giveaways, and games; how ever you want to do it during that time period. I've never done one so this will be a lot of fun. If you have done them before then you will know what goes in them and can tell me what to do lol. And of course, I will also be giving away copies of the new ebook--the release date is March

January is Almost Over 2020

This little guy is my grandson and he turned 1 in October 2019. He finally took steps on his own for the first time. That isn't the only achievement that's happened this month in my family. My granddaughter is potty training and she's 3, birthday is the same month as her brother. I am just so proud of my grandchildren. Can't you tell? Another achievement is one of mine. I finished The Dead Life! Edits are complete. I handed the story over to a friend of mine to read it. I'm waiting to see what she thinks of it. I have decided to make the release date for March 1, 2020. During the month of Feb, I will be giving away free copies of the ebook (not sure how many copies yet). If you want to be included with the giveaway, come over to Facebook. That's where the event is happening! If you haven't read any of my books yet, let this one be the first. Besides being available on Amazon, it will also be available on Smashwords. I'm looking for other places to

Learning to Schedule.......

One of the benefits of having a cell phone, you're able to use a built-in calendar to schedule your day and events that are important. The phone sends out alerts so you don't forget. I so love that feature lol. Anyway, I didn't put in all of my "appointments" for myself because I am trying to put this to practice. When you're not used to doing something like this, it takes time but you have to teach yourself to do it and keep it up. But this is somewhat, what my month of January looks like. I have several days a week where I am editing, and that's it. That way I can devote my time to my work. Once I begin writing again, it will be like that only for writing instead of editing. I think I will be editing as well. That way when it comes to the final edits, it won't be as hard. I'm just thinking out loud here, don't mind me lol. Anyway. I do a lot of networking now so I didn't put that on the calendar because that's an all-day thin

One Week In.........

So I am just sitting here and I can't believe a week has already come and gone. I feel like yesterday, I was watching the ball drop and getting my midnight kiss. Okay, I actually got the kiss at 11:30 because someone fell asleep lol. Seriously, he couldn't stay awake any longer. Guess some people just can't do it. It's okay. There's always next year and the year after that. Hopefully lol.  So have I kept my New Year's Resolutions so far? I really think it's too early to tell but yes, so far I have. I am using Google Calendar to write down all my plans and have been keeping them. I am trying to keep in good practice. I scheduled my edits which have been working! I actually was able to get them done faster than I had expected and that's a good thing. So now I can wait for someone to take a quick read over it and see if my changes made a difference. Then I will be formatting the book and waiting for its release so the time is getting closer! I am s

The Dead Life

Mr. Reynolds rushed to the phone as it reached its fourth ring. He grabbed the receiver from the wall-attached phone and answered, not expecting any particular person. “Hello,” he said calmly with a southern drawl. As he held the phone up to his ear, he pulled his baggy pants up with his other hand. “Mr. Reynolds?” an unfamiliar voice asked. “Yes, that’s me. What can I do you for?” “I apologize for disturbing you, Sir. Is your daughter Katy Lynne Reynolds?” the voice asked. “Yes, she is. What is this about?” He glanced at his wife as she washed the dishes. “Katy Lynne was brought to our emergency room.” “Why? What happened? Is she all right?” Mrs. Reynolds grabbed a towel and rushed over to her husband. “What’s happening?” she cried out. “It would be better if you come to the hospital. Do you have transportation, Sir?” the woman on the other end of the line asked. “Uh, yes. Give my wife directions and we’ll be there as soon as we can.” Mrs. Reynolds pulled one s
