About
I grew up in Monroe, Indiana which is just south of Decatur, Indiana. It was on a small farm (about 70 acres) that my maternal grandparents owned. My family lived in a trailer on the farm with my grandparents living in the big farmhouse. I attended Adam's Central where I was bullied and laughed at. I was always chosen last. I didn't have any friends except for an occasional invisible friend. I had a wild imagination.
When I was 10 years old, I attempted suicide hoping to end my pain. Thankfully, I was unsuccessful because only a year later, I discovered writing. I was heading home from a trip with my grandparents and little sister. It was a long trip and had paper and pens to draw during our trip from Warsaw. As I stared out the window to find an idea to draw, a story came to me instead. I immediately began writing and it felt natural. I knew in my heart, this was what I was meant to do. It called out to me and I heard it loud and clear.
Writing saved me. As I grew up, I turned to writing to escape and it gave me something special. I read books on writing and learned anything I could to improve my skills. I was determined to be the best writer I could be and keep growing. Of course, it took 20 years to get published but that's a different story altogether.

Once I was published, I began using the pen name, Amber Rigby Grosjean. I had published a few under that name using actual publishers (each book had a different publisher). I loved the process but I was losing some control over my stories and I really didn't like it so I decided to shorten the pen name to A.R. Grosjean and began rewriting the same stories and republished them. I also began writing new stories and published them on my own.
Now, over 30 years later, I have 17 books published with more being written. I am happily married to my best friend and one of my biggest fans. We have 3 children, all grown up. They love that I'm a writer. They are having their own children and we live in Fort Wayne, Indiana where I continue making new stories and dreaming up new ideas for future stories.
You can find all my books at amazon.com/author/argrosjean I have combined my two pen names together so some of my older books are included.
