Excerpt so far....      Emily elevated, floating through the ceiling. She had to follow the boundary of the Down Under so she could see if there was a weak spot. If she could find one, that would be her way in. She knew it. If she couldn’t walk through those gates, she was going to tear through a wall. Since she knew he had found the opening to the Vortex, she knew it wouldn’t take him long to figure out how to open it so she was running out of time and she knew it.      She inspected every angle she could find, every crack and every rock was checked twice. Emily placed her hands on the rocks that built the walls around the large void. She tried to feel the energy, get to know it. She tried spell after spell to weaken the symbols meant for good. I'm not just a writer, in case you haven't noticed. One of the pastimes that keeps me busy is crocheting. I don't normally make blankets but I wanted to make each of my grandchildren one to have. One when they are born and one when they get older for their beds. This one is just a part of one I'm making for Emily who is due in May. She's my fourth grandchild. Once I found out the gender, I bought the yarn for it. I am trying something new for her. I made one block, then joining it to another block in the same pattern. This is as far as I've gotten so far but there are 4 blocks total to represent 4 grandchildren. I'll be taking another picture once it's all done and include it for one of my newsletters. I do that from time-to-time lol. I enjoy making clothes and will be getting back to doing that eventually lol. Right now, I'm just enjoying doing the "grandma" thing. Hey world, that's me. My name is Amber and I write full time. I've always felt like writing chose me. I feel at home when I'm putting a story together. The adventure I have can't be put into words. Crazy, right? A writer who can't put something into words? It's true. Sometimes, I really don't know where things come from. It's like I have all these people living in my head whispering to me to say this or write that. I know I'm not crazy. I know it's my imagination. And that's fine, I'm happy with it. I am counting down the days for two reasons! The first one will be coming sooner than the second one. First, my third grandchild will be coming so I am super excited about that. My youngest baby is expecting her first baby. Jessica Unique will be here in less than 2 weeks! It could be sooner than 1 week. I'm not getting my hopes up lol. I'm just saying. Every time I see my daughter, I can't help myself, I gotta rub her belly and send Jessica kisses. Is that weird? If it's weird, I don't care lol. My first grandchild is super excited too. It's just so cute seeing her kiss her belly. This is her first cousin and she's calling her, her baby. It's just too adorable! This little guy is my grandson and he turned 1 in October 2019. He finally took steps on his own for the first time. That isn't the only achievement that's happened this month in my family. My granddaughter is potty training and she's 3, birthday is the same month as her brother. I am just so proud of my grandchildren. Can't you tell? Another achievement is one of mine. I finished The Dead Life! Edits are complete. I handed the story over to a friend of mine to read it. I'm waiting to see what she thinks of it. I have decided to make the release date for March 1, 2020. During the month of Feb, I will be giving away free copies of the ebook (not sure how many copies yet). One of the benefits of having a cell phone, you're able to use a built-in calendar to schedule your day and events that are important. The phone sends out alerts so you don't forget. I so love that feature lol. Anyway, I didn't put in all of my "appointments" for myself because I am trying to put this to practice. When you're not used to doing something like this, it takes time but you have to teach yourself to do it and keep it up. But this is somewhat, what my month of January looks like. I have several days a week where I am editing, and that's it. That way I can devote my time to my work. Once I begin writing again, it will be like that only for writing instead of editing. I think I will be editing as well. That way when it comes to the final edits, it won't be as hard. I'm just thinking out loud here, don't mind me lol. Anyway.
