Hell Bound, Book 5 in the Peterson Estate series
Excerpt so far....
Emily elevated, floating through the ceiling. She had to
follow the boundary of the Down Under so she could see if there was a weak
spot. If she could find one, that would be her way in. She knew it. If she
couldn’t walk through those gates, she was going to tear through a wall. Since
she knew he had found the opening to the Vortex, she knew it wouldn’t take him
long to figure out how to open it so she was running out of time and she knew
it.
She inspected every angle she could find, every crack and
every rock was checked twice. Emily placed her hands on the rocks that built
the walls around the large void. She tried to feel the energy, get to know it.
She tried spell after spell to weaken the symbols meant for good. She tried
removing them. Even the areas that were weak wouldn’t budge.
Emily could not find an opening so she assumed there would
have only been one that was weak enough to punch through and the Great Dark
Witch had already found it. So it led her back to where she started from—getting
through that door. The skeleton man was the only thing standing between her and
opening that door. She returned to try again.
“Why won’t you let this go, Emily?”
“Because I can’t. I cannot sit here and let the Great Dark
Witch destroys our world. I just can’t.”She yelled out of frustration. She
conjured a chair and sat down. She reached this far, she couldn’t believe she
was going to be stopped by a door—it was just a door. As powerful as she was,
why couldn’t she get through it? Was he that much more powerful than she was?
It was a good thing she wasn’t on top of the surface; she wouldn’t have made it
fighting against him. The self-doubt she felt began to take a toll on her. She
felt her powers weaken. She slumped in the chair, ready to admit defeat. She
had already been told evil was winning by the Ancient Ones. The Angels didn’t
believe in her. Everything was falling apart. She was on her own and she felt
it.
She looked up and saw the skeleton man smiling.
“What’s got you so happy?”
“Nothing.”
Emily didn’t agree. Something had him happy. Emily pulled
herself out of the chair. She walked over to him and placed her hand on his
arm. She used what energy she had left to read him. He was hiding something.
She couldn’t tell what exactly, but he was hiding something. He held the key
and she didn’t have the strength to find it.
Just as she was about to give up and walk away, Emily felt
something inside her—Zander. She could feel his love growing. It was like he
knew she needed him again. He always knew. Maybe that was what the lady in the
cabin meant when she said he was meant to help her. She had always known.
Zander was Emily’s rock. He was her strength. She could feel her powers returning.
She didn’t let on that she could feel it. She turned away with her head hanging
in defeat....
The above excerpt is from Chapter 11. It is actually where I left off in my writing at this time. The ending is slowly approaching. First of all, something big is about to happen. Will the Vortex open or will she stop it? The Vortex is something big in itself, btw lol. You'd have to read the whole book to understand that part but it is a twist in the story lol. Among many.
Knowing the ending before it comes, kind of sucks because now you have to race, trying to fill in the story to make it match. I wanted to yell at my character for letting it slip but at the same time, it made me super excited just knowing it lol. Does that make any sense? Normally, I don't like knowing the ending but in this case, I'm making an exception because it really is exciting. I can see why my MC let it slip lol. The woman is smart so she must have a plan. Right? Yeah, she's got something up her sleeve. I'm not so worried. She hasn't let me down yet. I don't think she's going to ever let me down. I've known her since I was 12 years old so we really grew up together. When I first created Emily Peterson, I molded her from myself. I added a few things, and took away others to make her a better person. Then I turned her into a witch just because I thought it would be cool. I wasn't wrong, she is actually really cool. The things she can do really would make someone flip their lid, and in a good way too. I would be such awe if this made onto the big screen. Seriously! I wouldn't be able to keep it in!
So anyway, I'm hard at work putting this story together. It will be finished very soon. Then I can begin editing. There are a few areas that need a little work and that's only because I want this story to pop which just means it needs a little polishing. In March, I'll also begin recording the audio for The Dead Life which is going to be a lot of fun! Then I will begin writing the next book. I'm estimating around June 2020 for that (when this book is released!)
