Social Site, Writing, and Day-to-day living... Finding the time for all

Image
Being a writer means writing, even when you're not in the mood. Time is something you make. So how do you juggle keeping a normal life, writing a novel, and marketing novels you've already written? Carefully lol. This is something I have learned over the years. The first book is always the easiest. Once it becomes published, you must learn how to continue writing while marketing the first book. Balancing life between the two and keeping a life is a little easier when it's only the one book with one being written. The more books you write and publish, the harder it becomes, especially when you're writing in multiple genres like I do. You have more than one audience which means extra work on top of what there is already. And that's fine because it is worth it. At least for me. So what are the secrets? You guessed it. Planning, planning, and keeping a schedule. But of course, what works for one may not work for another. So it really depends on your preferences and ro...

Progress and Updates

Image
So all of the books have been updated which means new covers. I've already shared them on Facebook so this won't be anything new there. But I'm sure there will be someone visiting this blog from elsewhere so if that's the case, here are the new updated covers for all of my books..... As I've mentioned in the last blog post, Stolen will be the next book that is released which is scheduled for October 1, 2020. I am writing Fairytale's Truth at the moment which is 8% finished lol. I'm finishing up with chapter 2, then moving on to the next chapter. This story is innocent and sweet which will make it a family favorite. At least that's the plan lol. I haven't written a story like this before but it holds close to my heart so it deserves to be told. And I'm giving it my best. That's why I love my imagination so much, I can come up with these different types of stories. As my career grows, you'll begin to see this more and more! So if anything l...

The next book, coming this fall

Image
Benjamin was abused most of his life. Upon his mother's death bed, she tells him a secret that sends him on a no-return journey--he was adopted. He hires a PI, only to find out that his biological mother has also passed away but the PI learns she had another son. Benjamin leaves his small town to head to New York to meet his brother for the first time. When he sees his twin brother, Benjamin snaps. He becomes something else--a killer. Will Benjamin be his own destruction? Will his brother's ghost be the hand that pushes him over the edge? This is a Paranormal Thriller. If you read Stolen Identity under my original pen name (Amber Rigby Grosjean) then you already know the story. This one is slightly different and without the naughty scenes which means anyone is able to read it. This will be the first book in the series Identity Collection. Reader beware: there are some intense scenes (murder).

New Update....

Image
Today is June 15, I just sent out my second round of newsletters for the month. It reveals a new cover that I designed using Pixabay. I love that site because there are so many pictures that a person can use for personal or even professional use. Sometimes, the pictures need to be altered which I do so they work for the covers. Most artists use stock for their covers for their books so it's no different. The alternative is hiring models and who's got the money for that? If you missed it, here's a link to see it for yourself. https://preview.mailerlite.com/n6y5t3

Newsletters

Image
Newsletters are a great way to keep an eye on your favorite author. Some don't use them while others do. It takes time to build each issue and just like writing a book, a lot of heart goes into those issues. I can't speak for other authors but for me, I enjoy the issues and I do them myself. I don't have an assistant who can aid me in my projects. I don't have someone researching my ideas. I don't have the luxury of a designer who can put together a beautiful cover that will make you cry. I do everything on my own. So while it may take me longer to get where I'm going, my stories are no less special than the next author's stories.  As you ride along with my on my journey, I will share updates so you can see how I'm getting through these challenges of wearing all the hats that I do. My struggles don't have to be your struggles. You can learn from my mistakes. And hopefully, I'll get to the top of that mountain, and you'll be able to say I knew...

Progress on Stolen

Image
As you already know, I'm writing my next book which is a Suspense/Thriller. Benjamin was abused his entire life by his mother, physically abused. Then on her death bed, she leaves another hurtful blow--he was adopted. Benjamin sets out to find his birth parents only to find out his mother has passed but the detective did learn that he had a brother. What Benjamin doesn't know is that his brother is a twin. When he sees him for the first time, it sets him off. The turned killer, Benjamin sets out to take over his brother's life. Will he be caught? Will Molly learn the truth before it's too late? Here's my progress on the story so far. I'm planning on 60K which could end up being more or less, it's just a goal at this point. I have written 18K so far so I still have a ways to go. I changed my deadline to July 1, 2020, which will give me another 30 days to finish writing this book. Once this book is finished, I'll be editing it so it would be changed from t...

I have updated two covers. These two are a pair so I coordinated them a little better. What do you think? I will be updating all of my covers in time so keep an eye out for the new fresh look on all my books. I'm very excited about this and can't wait for you to read them!
